Over the last few weeks NZ-LPFM-RSN has been in correspondence with Ara Tipu New Zealand (www.aratipu.co.nz) about their radio promotions disc.

I am happy to announce that any NZ-LPFM-RSN listed radio station wishing to apply for the Ara Tipu New Zealand radio promotions disc need only send an application of interest along with their postal address to: stewart@aratipu.co.nz
and Ara Tipu New Zealand will take care of the rest.

Here is a quote from our last correspondence:

::Quote::
We are looking at the possibility of getting the radio tracks out to your networks earlier than the commercial stations would get them, probably on a monthly issue (low-power-fm network exclusive.)  I think we could serve the network better this way. We'd like an indication from interested radio stations so we can look at the viability of the releases.

There is no charge to radio stations at all. Send me your stations postal address and we'll put a sampler in the post. Just have NZ-LPFM-RSN radio stations send an e-mail of interest to me at:
stewart@aratipu.co.nz
and I'll take care of the rest (provided they have listed as a station on your site). There are no membership or postage costs as it in in the interest of our artists to acheive airplay - that can't happen if you don't have it.

Just advise of what is being played (or programed into playlists) and we are happy with that.
::End Quote::

Ara Tipu are promoting New Zealand music that NZ on Air is ignoring due to its commercial standing.
I think LPFM Radio stations and Ara Tipu can work well together because we are more about the music than the dollar.

So thanks to Ara Tipu New Zealand, Low Power FM radio sataions are able to get more fresh local music - and before the big guys!

Cheers Ara Tipu - you rock

The first Ara Tipu Hit Disc has been announced on the Ara Tipu website. Release date to be July 26, 2004.

If you havn't listed your radio station on our database and emailed  Stewart at the above email address, now is the time.

Much thanks to Stewart and the other hard working people at Ara Tipu (and the musicians) for supporting the New Zealand Low Power FM Radio Station Network.

Hmm, hardly surprising since those posts were made in 2004. Just on 5 years ago.

A search on Aratipu brings back the following information:

Ara Tipu 10 Raleigh Street, Cambridge, Waikato 2351, New Zealand
PH: 64 7 8276863 Stewart McFarlane

The address listed in the Whitepages is different: 22 Burns St, Leamington, but the phone number remains the same.

Perhaps you might like to try him there.
